Three
Say it again. Did you pronounce it as /tri:/ or /thri:/?
During practicum in a primary school in Malaysia, I've found that most of my pupils are unable to pronounce words containing voiced TH /ð/ (i.e. them, other, with) and voiceless TH /θ/ (i.e. three, north) sounds or widely known as dental fricative consonants (DFC). I believe there are many ESL learners out there are facing the same problem. Therefore, I've resorted to creating this blog to aid those pupils. Hope you'll learn something from this post :).
INTRODUCTION TO DENTAL FRICATIVE CONSONANTS
Before we dive deep into what DFC is, let's watch this song video first. This video is to introduce you to the voiced and voiceless TH sounds as well as how to pronounce those sounds.
THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN VOICED AND VOICELESS TH SOUNDS
Watch the videos below to get a thorough explanation on voiced and voiceless TH sounds.
The first video is about the voiced TH sound.
The second one is about the voiceless TH sound.
Here are the links for more videos on DFC.

Now that you've watched the videos, let's take a look at these infographic posters I designed. I tried my best to summarize and simplify the information regarding DFC in these infographics. I hope you can understand and internalize them.
